LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two men have been arrested and charged with robbery after allegedly attacking a man in a Lexington parking lot while he waited for a date.
On July 16, police responded to a report of a robbery at the 500 block of Parkside Drive, near Mary Todd Lincoln Elementary School. The victim was found with visible injuries.
The victim told police he had arranged to meet a woman through a dating app and was waiting in his vehicle when two men, later identified as 20-year-old Kai’Shaun Clay and 21-year-old Christopher Miller, approached on bicycles. Miller was reportedly wearing a ski mask.
Clay allegedly called the woman believed to be the victim’s date before both suspects began striking the victim through the open car window. They then forcibly pulled him from the driver’s seat after unlocking the door and fled in the victim’s vehicle, driven by Miller.
Both men face one count of first-degree robbery, and Miller faces an additional charge of receiving stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000.
They are currently held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
