In a significant drug bust, the Kundli police have arrested two drug peddlers, Kahan Chand and Sher Singh, and recovered 4.350 kg of ‘charas’, valued at around Rs10 lakh. The duo was apprehended after a tip-off led to a successful operation near Bhawad village, part of the ongoing fight against the drug trade in the region.
According to police reports, a team led by Sub Inspector Ashish was on patrol when they received intelligence about two individuals traveling in a car with a Himachal Pradesh registration, suspected of carrying narcotics. The police team acted swiftly and intercepted the vehicle on Nizampur road at the canal bridge.
Upon searching the car, they discovered the ‘charas’, which was seized and confirmed as a part of a larger narcotics operation. Both Kahan Chand and Sher Singh, who are residents of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh, have been arrested and charged. They were produced before the court and have been remanded in five-day police custody for further investigation.
The police department has expressed confidence that this arrest will help curb the growing drug menace in the area. Further investigations are underway to trace the origins and distribution network of the seized narcotics.
