Columbia, S.C. — A man accused of shooting someone during an armed robbery at Christ Central Ministries has been arrested, according to the Columbia Police Department.
On Wednesday, April 23, officers responded to a reported shooting at the ministry. The victim sustained injuries but is expected to recover, as police confirmed the injuries were not life-threatening.
Authorities later located the suspect, 49-year-old Kacie Butler, at a hotel on Huger Street. During his arrest, officers discovered multiple firearms in the hotel room.
Butler now faces several charges, including assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and being a person prohibited from carrying a firearm.
He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
