Two individuals were arrested in Venango County after attempting to fraudulently withdraw money from a Pennsylvania man’s bank account.
On June 14, troopers from PSP Franklin responded to Northwest Savings Bank in Cranberry Township after staff suspected that someone was using a fraudulent ID to withdraw $4,000 from an account. Upon arriving at the scene, police noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspects leaving a nearby Taco Bell and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as 42-year-old Julian James from the Bronx, NY, allegedly fled the scene, leading officers on a pursuit westbound on US 322. The chase ended when the driver crashed into two stopped vehicles at the intersection with Home Depot Drive.
Both James and his accomplice, 25-year-old Lluwakayode Ajayi from Moon Township, PA, tried to escape on foot but were quickly apprehended by police.
The two men face multiple charges, including forgery, access device fraud, theft by deception, identity theft, fleeing and eluding police, and attempting to evade arrest on foot. They have been arraigned in Venango County Court, where bail was denied.
