MESA, AZ — Early Friday morning, 20-year-old Judas Alexis Figueroa was taken into custody following a high-speed chase on the Loop 202.
At approximately 1:15 a.m., a DPS trooper attempted to stop Figueroa’s vehicle on the eastbound Loop 202 near Country Club Drive. Instead of pulling over, Figueroa sped away. Although the trooper temporarily lost sight of the vehicle, DPS’s traffic operations center continued tracking it.
Authorities reported that Figueroa crashed into the center median and briefly drove against traffic before abandoning the car. He then fled on foot but was found hiding beneath a nearby pickup truck and was arrested by DPS troopers.
Figueroa now faces several charges, including unlawful flight from law enforcement, driving without a valid license, failure to obey a police officer, and probation violation.
