SAN JOSE, Calif. – A man who fled to Mexico after allegedly murdering a woman in San Jose in 2013 has been extradited to the U.S. and is now facing a murder charge, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Juan Ramirez, 37, was identified as the suspect in a fatal stabbing that took place on March 22, 2013, in the 900 block of North First Street. Officers responded to the scene and found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Following the incident, Ramirez fled to Mexico, and authorities were unable to locate him for years. However, in July 2024, INTERPOL apprehended him in Mexico and took him into custody, awaiting extradition.

On Friday, March 8, 2025, Ramirez was officially returned to San Jose and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on murder charges. He remains in custody without bail.
