STREATOR (25News Now) — A 38-year-old man is currently in the LaSalle County Jail after being linked to the murder of 37-year-old Jessica Balma.
Joshua R. Casey faces charges of murder and concealment of a homicide following the investigation into Balma’s death.
Streator Police responded to a call about an unspecified issue at a home in the 1100 block of E. Elm Street. Upon arrival, officers found Balma unresponsive. The coroner later declared her dead, prompting Illinois State Police to investigate due to the suspicious nature of the call.
After conducting an autopsy, Balma’s death was officially ruled a homicide. As the investigation continued, authorities identified Casey as a suspect, leading to his arrest.
