Joshua Patrick Lucero, a 33-year-old leader of a Portland-based burglary ring, has been sentenced to nine years in prison. The sentencing follows Lucero’s guilty plea to more than 30 felony charges, including car theft, stolen property possession, and burglarizing several businesses in the area, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

Lucero was part of a criminal operation believed to involve over 10 members, which targeted more than 100 businesses across Portland. In addition to Lucero, 27-year-old Courtney Carlile was also indicted earlier this year, facing similar charges. However, Carlile’s case is still pending.

As part of a plea deal, Lucero’s sentence resolves all outstanding charges in Multnomah County. His guilty plea included six counts of unauthorized vehicle use (auto theft), one count of second-degree burglary, and 23 counts of first-degree burglary. Lucero is also currently serving a separate 35-month sentence for related crimes in Washington County.
