The case against Joshua Hollum, a 46-year-old man from Yankton, South Dakota, has been transferred to trial court in Kearney, Nebraska. Hollum is facing multiple felony charges, including possession of over 140 grams of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm while committing a felony. In addition, he faces a misdemeanor charge of willful reckless driving.

Hollum waived his evidence hearing, and his case was moved to Buffalo County District Court, where he is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on April 4. At the arraignment, he will enter a plea to the charges.

Hollum is being held at the Buffalo County Jail on a $10 million bond.

According to court records, on February 4, a state trooper was dispatched to respond to a report of a reckless driver traveling eastbound on Interstate 80, just west of the Gibbon exit. Shortly after, authorities received a report stating that the suspect’s silver vehicle had collided with another car and continued driving with heavy front-end damage and visible smoke.

The trooper stopped Hollum’s vehicle and discovered a loaded firearm with an extended magazine, along with a bookbag containing suspected methamphetamine. Hollum allegedly admitted that he had picked up the drugs at a truck stop in Julesburg, Colorado, and had used the gun for drug transactions in the days leading up to his arrest.

In total, investigators found the following items in Hollum’s vehicle:

442.2 grams of methamphetamine
8.2 grams of cocaine
4 grams of heroin
16.3 grams of marijuana
Drug paraphernalia
A firearm with ammunition
Hollum now faces serious charges in connection with these items, which could lead to significant legal consequences if convicted.
