by Sophia Bennett

CUMBERLAND COUNTY — Deputies arrested a man Sunday following a disturbance call that led to the recovery of a stolen motorcycle.

According to the arrest report, 31-year-old Joshua Kenneth Garrett of Monterey told deputies he had taken a 2009 Kawasaki 250 motorcycle after working on it, claiming the owner did not have a title.

Garrett reportedly told officers he dumped the motorcycle across the street from the owner’s property near a pond.

Law enforcement later located the Kawasaki at the location Garrett described. The owner was able to provide proof of ownership to deputies.

Garrett was taken into custody and charged with theft of property.
