A routine traffic stop early Monday morning led to a significant drug arrest in Lewiston.
At approximately 1:22 a.m., Lewiston Police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Pierce and Walnut streets. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Joshua Baez of Albion, was found to be on probation.
During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered over 244 grams of crack cocaine, more than $17,000 in cash, and multiple prescription medications.
Baez was arrested and is currently facing several charges, including aggravated drug trafficking.
Police indicate that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
