DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A 37-year-old man, Joseph Brailey, was arrested in Darlington County after authorities reportedly found stolen property at his home in the Hartsville area.

The arrest followed a tip from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and Marion County Sheriff Brian Wallace, leading deputies to Centerville Road where they discovered stolen items, including golf carts. These items were linked to victims from Marion and Chesterfield counties.

Brailey, who identified himself as the resident of the home, was arrested for receiving stolen goods valued over $10,000. In addition to this charge, Brailey faces charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon, manufacture/possession of other substances, and a probation violation.

Brailey is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, where his bond was denied due to the probation violation.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details may emerge as authorities continue to piece together the case.
