EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY — Two men were arrested Thursday after a string of home invasions and armed robberies across the Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg area, according to Stroud Area Regional Police.
Police responded to a home invasion around 11 a.m. on Barry Street in Stroudsburg Borough, where victims reported a Hispanic male entered their home with a knife, demanding money and stealing their cell phones. The suspect fled in a silver SUV, reportedly driven by a white male. Victims were able to follow the vehicle and broke its rear windshield at a red light.
Shortly after, another home invasion was reported on King Street in East Stroudsburg, where the same Hispanic male threatened victims with a knife but fled without taking anything.
Later that afternoon, police located the suspect vehicle on Lackawanna Avenue and conducted a traffic stop on Hallet Street. The occupants were identified as 34-year-old Jose Ramirez and 35-year-old Anthony Ciccone.
An investigation revealed:
Jose Ramirez was the suspect who entered the homes with a knife.
Anthony Ciccone was identified as the driver of the silver SUV.
The pair had also allegedly robbed a man at knife-point on Hallet Street and burglarized a residence on Lackawanna Avenue.
Both men were taken into custody and face multiple felony charges, including armed robbery, burglary, and criminal conspiracy. Authorities believe Ramirez and Ciccone may be connected to additional unreported crimes in the area.
