TULARE COUNTY, Calif. — A 25-year-old man from Farmersville, Jose Hernandez, is in custody after allegedly opening fire on two teenagers in a May shooting incident near Visalia.

According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Hernandez on Wednesday afternoon. The shooting occurred on May 25 on East Court Street near Outer Drive in the Linnell Camp area.

Authorities say the two victims—a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl—were leaving church and driving when Hernandez allegedly fired multiple shots at their vehicle. One bullet reportedly struck the girl’s headrest, but neither teen was injured.

Investigators identified Hernandez as a documented gang member. He was taken into custody without incident and is now facing charges of attempted murder with a gang enhancement.
