HESPERIA, CA — A late-night shooting in Hesperia on Monday, June 23, 2025, left one woman dead and another targeted. Authorities say Jose Antonio Ramirez is in custody for the fatal shooting of Jasmine Keohi and for allegedly firing at a second, unidentified victim.
At 12:59 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in Hesperia. Upon arrival, they found Jasmine Keohi on the sidewalk outside the home. She had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that Ramirez also fired at a second individual, though no injuries were reported in connection with that victim.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the case, and a search was launched for the suspect. Ramirez was soon located at a nearby apartment complex and apprehended by the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division (SWAT).
Ramirez was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, where he remains in custody as the investigation continues.
