GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — A SWAT team raid on Thursday led to the arrest of 20-year-old Jorge Erik Segura, who is facing multiple felony charges after deputies uncovered drugs and firearms linked to an aggravated assault investigation.
Sheriff Joshua Ray said the operation began after a 20-year-old woman reported being assaulted around 4 or 5 a.m. at a residence on the 2200 block of FM 467. She reported the incident at 7:45 a.m., prompting Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office detectives to open an investigation.
A search and arrest warrant was quickly obtained and signed by 25th Judicial District Judge William D. Old III. Given the seriousness of the charge—aggravated assault with a deadly weapon—the GCSO SWAT team was deployed to execute the warrant.
Segura was arrested without incident while standing outside the residence. During a search of the property, deputies seized:
Four pistols and one assault pistol
216 grams of THC vape cartridges
310 grams of THC edibles
76 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms)
Other evidence of drug manufacturing and distribution
“These were serious allegations with a potentially dangerous suspect,” said Sheriff Ray. “Using the SWAT team was the safest and most effective option.”
Segura is being held in Guadalupe County Jail on charges including:
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Three counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 2 (between 4 and 400 grams)
His total bond was set at $425,000, according to jail records. The investigation is ongoing.
