LANCASTER, PA — A 22-year-old Lancaster city man accused of stealing a pickup truck and leading police on a high-speed chase has waived his preliminary hearing and will proceed to county court.

Jordan Michael Volker waived the hearing on September 16 before Judge Mary Sponaugle. He faces charges including three counts of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night, and multiple traffic violations.

According to police, residential surveillance footage captured Volker loitering near a home on the 300 block of North West End Avenue just after midnight on September 6. He allegedly stole a truck parked outside the residence.

Officers attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, but Volker reportedly fled, running red lights and speeding through Lancaster County. The pursuit ended when he crashed into a garden center on the 500 block of West Lexington Road in Penn Township.

Police say Volker admitted to the theft after being taken into custody.

He is currently being held at Lancaster County Prison on $30,000 bail. A formal arraignment is scheduled for October 10.
