A Newport man, Jordan Harvey, 33, is in jail following a domestic incident on January 15, 2026.
According to arrest warrants and court records, Harvey is charged with multiple misdemeanors, including:
Assault on a female
Assault on a pregnant woman
Interfering with emergency communication
Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
Warrants allege Harvey physically attacked the victim by throwing her onto a couch, biting her arm, spraying her with a fire extinguisher, banging her head on a counter, hitting her face and eye, and wrapping his hands around her throat. He is also accused of taking the victim’s phone to prevent her from calling 911.
Harvey has been ordered to have no contact with the victim and is prohibited from possessing firearms or controlled substances without a valid prescription. He remains jailed on a $10,000 secured bond.
