LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas couple has been arrested and charged in a massive fraud case after allegedly deceiving investors out of more than $57 million in a luxury vehicle and boat resale scam, according to Metro police.
Jong Rhee, 45, and Neelufar Rhee, 34, face 78 felony charges each, including racketeering, money laundering, and forgery. The couple allegedly lured investors with promises that high-end cars and boats would be resold to overseas buyers for large profits. However, police believe no such buyers ever existed.
Metro police described the scheme as “massive,” noting that it was carried out through the couple’s businesses: Twisted Twins Motorsports and Lusso Auto Spa, both linked to Las Vegas and Henderson addresses.
Authorities arrested the Rhees on Thursday. Both posted $100,000 bail and are scheduled to appear in court on June 9.
Two additional individuals, Crisfin Deguzman and John Baudhuin, are also facing charges related to the alleged scheme.
The investigation remains active as law enforcement continues to assess the full scope of the fraudulent activity and identify additional victims.
