Kentucky State Police announced the arrest of 26-year-old Jonathan Hood following a fatal crash in Nelson County that resulted in the death of 18-year-old McKinzi Raisor.

The crash occurred on April 22, when KSP responded to a two-vehicle collision near the 800 block of KY-509 in the Coxs Creek community. Authorities say Hood was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when he crossed the center line, colliding with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 17-year-old.

Both Hood and the juvenile driver were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. At this time, no updates have been provided regarding their conditions.

Unfortunately, McKinzi Raisor, a passenger in the juvenile’s vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner’s Office.

Following the crash, Hood was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, wanton endangerment, driving under the influence, and driving with an open alcohol container. He is currently being held at the Nelson County Detention Center, and the investigation is ongoing.
