RALEIGH, N.C. — A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder following a fatal assault that occurred early Tuesday morning in Raleigh.
Raleigh police responded to a 911 call around 4:00 a.m. on Auston Grove Drive, near New Bern Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old William Hala suffering from injuries consistent with an assault.
Hala was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jonathan Daniel Lee, a Raleigh resident. He has since been taken into custody and formally charged with murder in connection with Hala’s death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released further details regarding a possible motive or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
