WESTFIELD, IN—Jon Pastorius Jr. was arrested Wednesday after a nearly two-month long investigation into a series of thefts, according to a news release from the Westfield Police Department.

The investigation began on October 28 when a Westfield officer spotted a suspicious vehicle near a construction site at Park and Poplar Streets. After the vehicle fled the scene with its headlights off, the officer attempted a traffic stop, sparking a pursuit that included driving through yards in the 600 block of Birch Street. The suspect vehicle was eventually abandoned at Washington Woods Elementary School.

The vehicle, which had been reported stolen by Noblesville police on October 25, was found with spray-paint markings designed to disguise its appearance. A search of the vehicle uncovered a stolen table from the construction site.

Following an investigation, Westfield police identified Jon Pastorius Jr. as the suspect connected to the theft. An arrest warrant was issued for multiple charges, including resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, theft with a prior conviction, unlawful possession of a syringe, reckless driving, and habitual offender enhancement.

On Wednesday, officers from Westfield and Noblesville located Pastorius Jr. at a residence in the 3000 block of Westfield Road. After initially refusing to exit, Pastorius Jr. was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Hamilton County Jail. His bond was set at $50,000.
