Johnson City Man Arrested for Auto Theft and Evading Arrest

Braydon J. Henderson, 22, Faces Charges After Stealing Car and Fleeing Scene

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Braydon J. Henderson, 22, from Johnson City, is facing charges of auto theft and evading arrest after allegedly stealing a car early Thursday morning.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), deputies responded to a reported auto theft at 1 a.m. in the 100 block of Claude Simmons Road. The victim reported that Henderson took the vehicle without permission and refused to return it. It was also noted that Henderson’s driver’s license was suspended at the time of the theft.

The stolen vehicle was later found at a gas station on Pickens Bridge Road. Upon police arrival, Henderson ran from the scene. However, officers were able to locate and arrest him shortly thereafter.

Henderson is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $13,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
