LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A routine traffic stop on East Fourth Street in London led to the arrest of two individuals on Wednesday night following the discovery of a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and other drugs.
Around 9 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Johnny Asher of Louisville. Passenger Roberta Ann Benge, 49, from Manchester, was also in the car.
During the stop, law enforcement officials found a “large quantity” of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and a smoking pipe.
Both Asher and Benge were charged with first-degree conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine (first offense), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Benge was charged with marijuana possession.
