SEARCY, Ark. (KATV) — Two Searcy men have been arrested following a fentanyl overdose at Super Bowl Bowling Alley on April 17, prompting a drug trafficking investigation by local and state authorities.

Police responded to the bowling alley at 825 S. Main Street, where 32-year-old James Preston Tarkington was found overdosing. North Star EMS transported him to the hospital, where he recovered.

Investigators with the Searcy Police Department and the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force (CADTF) launched an immediate probe. A powdery substance at the scene tested positive for fentanyl.

Following the investigation, police arrested Tarkington and 32-year-old John Sterling Holmes on April 25. Authorities also executed a search warrant on Holmes’ vehicle and the bowling alley.

Additional fentanyl and drug paraphernalia were discovered in both locations.

Tarkington faces charges of possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, while Holmes has been charged with delivery and trafficking of fentanyl. The investigation remains ongoing.
