CINCINNATI, OH — A man has died and another has been arrested following a shooting late Saturday night in the Walnut Hills neighborhood, according to Cincinnati police.
Officers responded to the 3000 block of Gilbert Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, later identified as Jason Lamar Bennett, was transported to UC Medical Center by Cincinnati Fire officials, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have arrested John Smith, 58, in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with reckless homicide.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
