Multiple drugs seized from two city residences

by Sophia Bennett

John Quiroga, 29, was arrested by the Laredo Police Department for alleged manufacture and distribution of narcotics throughout the city.

The arrest follows a months-long investigation by the Laredo Police Department Narcotics Unit. Detectives obtained no-knock search warrants for two residences linked to Quiroga, located in the 3700 block of Eagle Pass Ave. and the 1500 block of Lafayette St.

On March 20, the Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Laredo Police Department SWAT Team, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Texas Department of Public Safety, executed the warrants. Quiroga was found and detained at the Eagle Pass Ave. residence without incident.

Officers recovered multiple types of narcotics packaged for distribution, including crack cocaine, cocaine, marijuana, and pills believed to be Xanax.

The Laredo Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
