An 80-year-old Sacramento man, John Lee, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a deadly hunting incident in a State Wildlife Area in Sutter County.
Around 9 a.m. on Sunday, deputies from the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting near Becker Road and Gifford Road, southeast of Knights Landing. The area is part of a designated State Wildlife Area, currently open for turkey hunting season.
