JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man is facing charges after police responded to a stabbing on Friday night.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers were called around 1:30 p.m. on December 5 to a residence on the north side of the city for a reported stabbing. When they arrived, they found a victim with a severe cut to his face who required immediate medical attention.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as John Kellom Jr. The victim told officers that a verbal dispute had taken place between him and Kellom, during which Kellom allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed the victim’s face before fleeing the scene.
Kellom was located nearby a short time later and taken into custody. He has been charged with Assault and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was arraigned on December 6 and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail, where he awaits sentencing.
