BELLAIRE, OH — A man was arrested last week following a series of vehicle break-ins and the theft of a car from a resident on Ohio Street.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 10, security cameras in several neighborhoods captured a male suspect checking and entering vehicles. Later that same day, a vehicle was reported stolen.
Authorities quickly identified the suspect as John Huntsman. By Thursday, June 12, investigators tracked Huntsman and the stolen vehicle to a residence in the Flushing area.
The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office recovered the vehicle and took Huntsman into custody. Huntsman was already wanted on a nationwide parole violation warrant and now faces a felony theft charge, with more charges possible as the investigation continues.
Officials credited the cooperation between local law enforcement agencies and valuable tips from the public in helping solve the case.
