John Carey Arrested for Dover Pizza Shop Burglary

Used knife to steal cash from registers at Four Seasons Pizza

DOVER, DE – A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a local pizza restaurant. John Carey, of Camden-Wyoming, was taken into custody by Delaware State Police following an investigation into a break-in at Four Seasons Pizza located at 2467 South State Street in Dover.

The incident occurred overnight on June 16, with troopers responding to the business around 9:18 a.m. the following morning. Investigators say the suspect forced entry into the building and used a knife to pry open cash registers before stealing money and fleeing the scene.

Detectives later identified Carey as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was apprehended on June 19 and taken to Troop 3, where he was formally charged and arraigned.

Charges against Carey include:

Burglary 2nd Degree (Felony)

Possession of Burglar Tools or Instruments (Felony)

Theft Under $1,500

Two counts of Criminal Mischief under $1,000

He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $7,100 secured bond.

Authorities have not reported any injuries, and the investigation remains ongoing.
