by Ananya Mehta

In a case of job fraud, the Mangalabag Police in Cuttack, Odisha, arrested two brothers, Arjit Mohanty and Arpita Mohanty, on Sunday for deceiving job seekers with false promises of health sector jobs. The two accused were involved in looting over Rs 10 lakh from 40 victims by promising them government jobs in various health centers and medical colleges across the state.

The victims, who sought jobs in positions such as ANM, GNM, Data Entry Superintendent, and Attendant, were given fake appointment letters after paying amounts ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 each. The police launched an investigation after multiple complaints were filed, leading to the seizure of items including fake appointment letters, seals, documents, and more from the accused brothers. Both suspects have been arrested and forwarded to court for further legal action.

This operation highlights the growing issue of fraudulent recruitment schemes targeting job aspirants.
