Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two drug peddlers and seized narcotics in operations conducted in Budgam and Pulwama districts.
In Budgam, a police team from Police Post Hardpanzoo stopped a motorcyclist at a checkpoint in Dasan village. The rider, identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah from Hardu-Latina, was found carrying approximately 60 grams of charas wrapped in corn straw. The motorcycle, bearing registration number JK04B-7830, was also confiscated. A case under FIR No. 109/2025 has been registered at Beerwah Police Station under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act, with investigations ongoing.
Meanwhile, in Pulwama, police acting on specific intelligence intercepted Sajanbir Singh, son of Harbajan Singh from Venke Lopoke Amritsar, at a naka on Circular Road. A search recovered 3.5 grams of heroin from his possession. Singh was arrested, and FIR No. 193/2025 was filed under section 8/22 of the NDPS Act at Pulwama Police Station.
Authorities continue to investigate both cases to disrupt drug trafficking in the region.
