In a major breakthrough under Operation Knockout, the District Special Team (DST) of Jaipur Rural arrested Jitendra Kumar Meena (22) for carrying 261 banned Tramadol capsules, a restricted psychotropic substance, on Sunday.
Acting on intelligence developed by a constable, police set up a checkpoint in front of the Achrol police post along the Jaipur-Delhi highway. An unregistered e-rickshaw traveling from Achrol toward NIMS University was intercepted.
The driver, identified as Jitendra Kumar Meena, a resident of Modukala Ki Dhani in Achrol, failed to present any vehicle documentation. A search of the e-rickshaw uncovered 261 Tramadol capsules hidden inside. He did not possess a medical license or any legal authorization for carrying such substances.
Both the capsules and the e-rickshaw were seized immediately, and a case was registered under the NDPS Act at Chandwaji police station. The investigation has now been transferred to the SHO of Jamwaramgarh police station, who is probing the origin and intended distribution network of the drugs.
A senior police official confirmed that further interrogation is ongoing to trace the supply chain and potential buyers linked to the illegal drug operation.
