NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — 26-year-old Jimma Yan is in custody after Nashville police arrested him on multiple drug and weapons charges.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Division found Yan sitting in a suspicious Kia on Nesbitt Lane, which had a busted rear window and emitted a strong smell of marijuana. Upon detaining Yan, they searched his vehicle and found a backpack containing three pounds of marijuana, 22 THC vapes, fentanyl pills, ecstasy, Xanax, crack cocaine, a loaded handgun with an extended magazine, digital scales, and thousands of dollars in cash.

As officers escorted Yan to a patrol car, he attempted to flee while still handcuffed. However, he was quickly located with the assistance of Madison Precinct officers and the MNPD Aviation Unit.

Yan faces several charges, including felony possession of a weapon, evading arrest, and six counts of drug possession. He is being held on a $105,500 bond.
