JetBlue Pilot Jeremy Gudorf Arrested on Sexual Exploitation Charges

Flight crew member detained at Logan Airport after North Carolina warrant

by Amelia Crawford

Jeremy Gudorf, a 33-year-old JetBlue pilot, was arrested Thursday night at Logan Airport in Boston after U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) discovered an active warrant for his arrest. Gudorf, who was on a flight from Boston to Paris, is wanted in North Carolina on charges of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to Massachusetts State Police, CBP agents identified Gudorf as the subject of the warrant while conducting their routine review of the flight manifest. The arrest occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, when authorities detained Gudorf after verifying the active warrant lodged against him.

Charges and Court Proceedings

Gudorf, a resident of Ohio with ties to Massachusetts, appeared for an arraignment at East Boston District Court on Friday. His defense attorney requested his release while the prosecution argued that he should be held without bail. The prosecution emphasized the seriousness of the charges and noted Gudorf’s profession as a commercial pilot, raising concerns that he might attempt to flee the country.

The defense attorney reassured the court that Gudorf would not attempt to run from the charges, pointing out the public attention the case had already attracted. Despite the defense’s arguments, the prosecutor requested that Gudorf be held without bail and that he surrender his passport.

Investigation and Extradition

While the details of the charges remain unclear, the North Carolina warrant is related to allegations of sexual exploitation of a minor. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working toward Gudorf’s extradition to North Carolina to face the charges.

As the case unfolds, the legal process will determine whether Gudorf will remain in custody or be released pending further proceedings. The arrest has raised questions about security procedures and the identification of suspects among flight crew members.
