Jessica Little Hoop, the former general manager of the Scottsbluff Sonic restaurant, was sentenced Wednesday in Scotts Bluff County District Court after pleading no contest to theft charges.
The 35-year-old was arrested in November after the regional manager of Sonic contacted Scottsbluff Police. The manager reported that Little Hoop failed to make cash deposits between November 15 and 18, with over $1,500 unaccounted for.
Little Hoop later entered a no-contest plea to a Class 1 misdemeanor charge of Theft by Taking involving $500 to $1,500. As part of her plea agreement, she also agreed to pay restitution.
At sentencing, Judge Andrea Miller ordered Little Hoop to pay $1,057 in restitution, serve 60 days in jail, and complete 18 months of probation.
The case serves as a reminder of the consequences of workplace theft and highlights the legal process for addressing financial misconduct in local businesses.
