WAIPAHU, HI — Jerry Arthur Goode, 68, a former bookkeeper for a Hawaii trade association management company, was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding $400,000 warrant related to alleged theft and forgery.
Goode faces 64 felony counts, including theft and forgery, according to a felony information filed Tuesday by the state Department of the Attorney General. The charges stem from accusations that he took unauthorized control of over $460,000 from several trade groups, including the Roofing Contractors Association of Hawaii, the Hawaii Pest Control Association, and the Subcontractors Association of Hawaii. He also allegedly stole more than $750 from the Hawaii Flooring Association.
The criminal activity is said to have occurred between 2017 and 2023, with the state court records revealing prior civil claims against Goode from financial institutions dating back to 2006.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Goode worked for The Legislative Center Inc., a firm specializing in association management and government affairs, for over 35 years.
The $400,000 warrant was issued after an extensive investigation by the Attorney General’s Investigation Division, led by Special Agent Briana Hueu. Deputy Attorney General Elyse Oyama is prosecuting the case.
Class B felonies like those Goode faces carry prison sentences of up to 10 years.
