SAN ANTONIO — Jerome Deleon Guerrero, also known as William Taitingfong, has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary and theft incident reported earlier this month. Guerrero, 42, appeared before Superior Court Judge Joseph N. Camacho on Monday for a bail hearing and remains in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
The Department of Public Safety issued a warrant for Guerrero’s arrest after identifying him as the suspect in a residential burglary on April 1. According to the complaint, the victim reported coming home to find his house ransacked, his security equipment tampered with, and several valuables missing—including $1,800 in cash, a DJI Mini 4 drone valued at $1,000, and a car diagnostics instrument worth $500. The suspect had also taken the victim’s Employment Authorization Document.
Video footage provided by the victim showed a man searching through the home. A police investigator who had previously interacted with Guerrero positively identified him in the footage.
Guerrero was charged with burglary and theft by the Office of the Attorney General’s Criminal Division. During Monday’s hearing, Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas requested that the $25,000 cash bail set by Judge Kenneth L. Govendo remain in place, citing additional pending charges. Judge Camacho agreed and remanded Guerrero back into custody.
Guerrero, represented by Assistant Public Defender Charlene Brown, waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He is scheduled to return to court for arraignment on May 12 at 9 a.m.
