CARMEL, Ind. — Jeremy Kashman, 44, has been dismissed from his role as Chief Infrastructure Officer for the City of Carmel following an internal review prompted by his May 23 arrest on domestic battery charges.
Noblesville police responded to a reported disturbance at a home on Spayside Drive South. According to a probable cause affidavit, officers spoke with a woman and a child who claimed Kashman pushed and touched them aggressively. The woman said he yelled, used profanities, pulled her hair, and punched her in the back multiple times with closed fists. The child added that Kashman pushed them, leaving a scratch on their cheek from his watch.
Kashman was taken into custody and charged with two counts of domestic battery. He was placed on administrative leave shortly after the incident. On Tuesday, Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam announced his termination, stating it followed an internal review of the situation.
Kashman, who was appointed to the infrastructure role in June 2024, was responsible for overseeing engineering, utilities, and public works projects in the city.
His jury trial is scheduled for December 16, 2024.
