Jeremy Blowers, 39, of Verona, was sentenced Thursday in Oneida County Court to 25 years to life in State prison following his conviction for predatory sexual assault against a child.
In February, a jury found Blowers guilty of sexually abusing a boy under the age of 13 over a period of three years, from June 2015 to Spring 2018, in Blossvale, New York.
Before receiving his sentence, Blowers appealed to the judge for leniency, citing his own experiences of childhood abuse and the counseling he underwent. He also referenced his probation for physically abusing one of his own children and his subsequent counseling.
Despite these appeals, Oneida County Court Judge Robert Bauer imposed the maximum sentence. Blowers will serve 25 years to life in prison for his crimes against the young victim.
