PADUCAH — Law enforcement arrested two individuals and is seeking a third in connection with a string of catalytic converter thefts, McCracken County authorities said.
Surveillance footage on Jan. 29 captured an attempted theft at Jason’s Collision Center on County Park Road. Detectives identified 42-year-old Jeremiah Wood, who was already a suspect in multiple recent thefts and had outstanding Marshall County warrants for catalytic converter thefts.
Deputies initially found Wood absent from his North 23rd Street residence, but later located him and 33-year-old Danielle Davenport of Dexter hiding in a detached garage on the property on Jan. 30. Both were taken into custody. Wood confessed to committing numerous thefts across Paducah, McCracken, Marshall, and Livingston counties.
A search of Wood’s residence uncovered stolen items, including a large metal brake, cutting torch, and welding helmets. Investigators also tied him to the December 2025 theft of a side-by-side and a four-wheeler. Wood faces charges including theft by unlawful taking ranging from $1,000 to $1,000,000 and first-degree criminal mischief. Davenport is also wanted on related Marshall County warrants.
Later, detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence of 64-year-old James Guiling on Adams Street in Paducah, recovering stolen catalytic converters, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Guiling remains at large and is wanted for possession of methamphetamine (second or subsequent offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Paducah Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, continues its investigation. Officials said additional arrests and charges are expected.
