Meth and paraphernalia found after traffic stop tip-off

by Amelia Crawford

A 43-year-old man is behind bars following a drug raid that uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at his home in Hopewell Township, Mercer County.

According to Sheriff Doug Timmerman, the arrest came as a result of an interdiction operation carried out Wednesday by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Grand Lake Drug Task Force. The detail included eight traffic stops, five citations, and five warnings.

One of those traffic stops led to new information, which prompted authorities to obtain a search warrant for a home in the 8000 block of Weitz Road.

Inside the residence, deputies found methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia, leading to the arrest of Jeremiah Williams, 43.

Williams was taken to the Mercer County Jail, where he remains in custody on preliminary drug possession charges. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details on the case or whether additional charges will follow.
