BUCKEYE, AZ — Jeremiah Ramage, 38, has been arrested after allegedly breaking into more than 35 cellphone towers across the Phoenix metropolitan area and stealing thousands of dollars worth of high-tech equipment.
Buckeye police say Ramage, a former contractor, targeted numerous towers, stealing items such as industrial routers and other expensive equipment. On June 10, officers responded to a break-in at a cellphone tower near Interstate 10 and Sun Valley Parkway, where several pieces of equipment were reported missing.
Investigators traced the stolen equipment back to Ramage after discovering that some of the items were being sold on eBay.
On July 17, detectives stopped Ramage near Sun Valley Parkway and Thomas Road, where they found cell tower equipment linked to burglaries across southern Arizona, as well as a stolen firearm. A search of Ramage’s home yielded hundreds of stolen items belonging to various cellphone service providers.
Ramage has been charged with burglary, theft, and trafficking stolen property and is currently held in jail.
