CULDESAC, Idaho — A Culdesac woman was arrested Monday, July 28, after two law enforcement encounters that escalated into alleged assaults on deputies and the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.
Jennifer Stokes, 53, was first contacted after deputies received a call about her dumping trash and possibly prowling near a vehicle at a residence on Chambers Road. The property owner requested she be trespassed from the location.
Shortly after, deputies were called to a second location where Stokes had allegedly trespassed again. Upon contact, she became combative, pushed a deputy in the chest, and threw water on both deputies before collapsing to the ground as they attempted to place her in handcuffs.
A search of Stokes’ purse reportedly revealed two glass pipes, one with burnt white residue—items consistent with methamphetamine use, according to deputies.
She was transported to the Nez Perce County Jail and charged with:
Two felony counts of battery on certain personnel,
One misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing officers,
Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bond was set at $5,000.
