A Royal Oak, Michigan woman, Jennifer Cataldo, 45, has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder in the death of her 66-year-old mother, Leslie Cataldo.
According to court records, Jennifer was charged Friday following a police response on Wednesday evening. Leslie Cataldo had called 911 from an apartment on the 3600 block of Crooks Road around 7:40 p.m., reporting that her daughter was experiencing a mental health crisis and needed hospital care.
When officers arrived, they observed signs of a struggle and entered the apartment, finding Leslie Cataldo unresponsive with a severe neck wound. She was rushed to the hospital, where she died the following day.
Jennifer Cataldo was taken into custody at the scene. If convicted, she could face a life sentence.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for June 13.
