by Amelia Crawford

On January 5, 2025, Kentucky State Police troopers arrested 38-year-old Joshua W. Johnson of Blaze Branch, Jenkins, after allegedly discovering drugs in his possession and evidence of drug trafficking. Johnson now faces multiple charges, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, 2 grams or more), possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear, and first-degree bail jumping related to prior warrants.

According to the citation from Trooper C. Whitaker, he and fellow officers Troopers Chapman and Spurlock knew of Johnson’s outstanding warrants when they saw him. Upon arrest, a white plastic tube containing methamphetamine was discovered nearby, along with several empty plastic bags commonly associated with drug trafficking.

Johnson was arrested and transported to the Pike County Detention Center, where he remains in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
