Winston County, Ala. (WBMA) — Investigator Jason “Smooch” Bridges of the Winston County Sheriff’s Office successfully closed a case involving the theft of a four-wheeler from a young boy at his grandparents’ residence in Ashridge. The vehicle was allegedly stolen and traded in the Navoo community of Walker County for a small amount of methamphetamine.
Following the confession of one suspect, Investigator Bridges obtained a search warrant, which was executed with the help of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigative team. The search led to the recovery of the stolen four-wheeler, as well as the discovery of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the crime. Jeffery Austin Tyler Abbott, 23, from Double Springs, was charged with first-degree theft of property. Adam Keith Trimm was charged with first-degree receiving stolen property and obstruction of government operations by the Winston County Sheriff’s Office. Trimm faces additional charges with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Caleb Snoddy expressed pride in the outcome, saying, “I’m very proud of my deputies and investigative team as well as the assistance we received from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, and I am equally happy to be able to return property to a young boy who was victimized by this theft.”
