JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — On Monday, June 23, 2025, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a targeted search operation in response to multiple citizen complaints about firearm offenses and narcotics activity in the 1100 block of Forest Street.
The operation, carried out by the Narcotics Detectives and the Safe Neighborhood Enforcement Team (SNET), resulted in several arrests and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash.
Debreon Raheem Jones, 32, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking, possession of marijuana in the first and second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $181,000.
Dana Maurice Jones, 34, faced charges including tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in the first degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has since posted bond and been released.
Sheriff Mark Pettway highlighted the importance of community cooperation in the success of law enforcement efforts. “We love bridging the gap between law enforcement and our communities. Without our citizens’ help in solving crimes, we would not be as effective in crime fighting. My number one priority is to keep the citizens of Jefferson County safe,” Pettway said.
The raid resulted in the seizure of 96 grams of marijuana, 30 grams of oxycodone, two firearms—a Smith & Wesson .357 and a Springfield XDM 9mm—$8,350 in cash, digital scales, and narcotics packaging materials.
