COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man with a history of OVI offenses was arrested early Sunday morning after being stopped for speeding and suspected impairment, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).
Troopers say they pulled over 34-year-old Jayquan Jeffries around 2:05 a.m. after he was observed driving at a high rate of speed. During the stop, officers noticed signs of alcohol impairment.
Following an OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired) investigation, it was confirmed that Jeffries was driving under the influence of alcohol. Authorities also found that Jeffries was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Franklin County Justice Center. Jeffries has been officially charged with OVI and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
